Docs: CompareBot
Quick Notes:
- You can use just about any slice of parse data in CompareBot – manually select a certain phase of a fight, compare all wipes at once, just use boss kill parses, etc.

Old Changelist:
- 1/5/2011
- Added Dark Intent, Cataclysm potions, and Time Warp handling
- The lingering problem of poorly sorted tables should now be fixed.
- All fights have basic debuffs and mistakes for normal mode 25 mans.
- 12/14/2010
- Added initial mistakes and debuffs for Magmaw, Maloriak, and Atramedes 25 Normal.
- 12/12/2010
- Added initial mistakes and debuffs for Omnotron and Wyrmbreaker 25 Normal. Feel free to contact me with suggestions on what other abilities to call out in raid reports and compares.
- 12/9/2010
- FYI, CompareBot will not properly identify Cata bosses until World of Logs is updated to include Cata raid parse handling. Once WoL gets this completed, CompareBot will automatically get the right boss names.
- 11/13/2010
- Added the full raid summary to the live site on accident. This is very much in beta and is funky.
- 6/16/10
- Duplicate reports should not happen anymore. I think this was mainly caused by people going back and resubmitting the form on the front page.
- Fixed a bug where quick armory links would be pointing to the wrong server in some cases.
- 6/15/10
- Blood Queen bite debuffs were not both showing up in the Significant Fight Debuffs section.
- 6/14/10
- Added more information to summary:
- Effective DPS or HPS (should match WOL rankings) – chooses DPS or HPS based on which is higher
- Total Damage or healing
- Link to character on quickarmory.com (may not work for all non-US servers)
- Various links to different World of Logs pages (guild page, overall damage/healing done)
- To get the above information, I’m now retrieving the full damage done and healing done pages so compares may take slightly longer to generate. Old parses are being updated now. This sets the stage to be able to show more information.
- Minor tweak – tabs default to hidden when page loads. Should reduce the flash of tables that goes away when the JavaScript kicks in.
- Added more information to summary:
- 6/12/10
- Added initial LK support. Logs for LK are dumb, can’t easily detect Valk pickups, necrotic plague target, shadow trap trigger, or defile target
- Added initial support for Dreamwalker and Sindragosa in the summary tab
- 6/10/10
- Added support for Putricide, Princes, and Blood Queen in the summary tab
- 6/8/10
- Added support for Rotface and Festergut in the summary tab
- 6/7/10
- Added ability DPS column in damage tab.
- New summary tab: powerful buffs explicitly listed, fight specific debuffs, and potential mistakes listed. Marrowgar, Deathwhisper, and Saurfang partially implemented at this time.
- 6/6/10
- Private parses will properly get an error if they are found
- Minor changes to URL entry form and parse information display. Parse name is correctly flagged as optional.
- Better handling of parses covering multiple attempts, wipes, and older content (3 drake, knock, knock, knock, etc).
- 6/5/10
- Fixed issues with accented characters and non-english parses. Will still be weirdness comparing an english and non-english parse
- 6/4/10
- Added damage taken tab. Parses loaded previously will have no data for this tab. I’ll rescrape data for these parses sometime soon. New parses should have damage taken data.
is there any plan to make a mop update to the full raid summarizings? i liked them due 4.2 with the nice overview of these things like:
Significant Buffs
Significant Class Skills
Consumable Usage
Significant Debuffs
Potential Mistakes
I’ve added a few abilities/mistakes based on feedback from Raidbots fans. I’m actually not playing WoW right now so I’m not up-to-date on new class and raid abilities. If there are spell IDs you want to see, please list them here or in an email to me (sollaires@gmail.com) – provide the class/spec/boss, the name of the ability, and (most critically) the spell ID.
Hi there,
thanks for your reply. i try to gather these spell id numbers based on wol logs and post them here, just give me 1-2 weeks to collect them.
First i will line up the Consumable’s in MoP:
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=105697 Virmen’s Bite
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=105706 Potion of Mogu Power
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=105702 Potion of the Jade Serpent
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=105701 Potion of Focus
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=105709 Master Mana Potion
http://www.wowhead.com/spell=105704 Alchemist’s Rejuvenation
Gathering the other spells will take a while : )
Getting the WOL spell ID isn’t always quite enough as it may not be reported on World of Logs. The best way to determine what spell ID is going to work on CompareBot is by finding example of the spell being used on World of Logs by/to a character. One thing that gets really tricky is determining how the spell shows up in the combat log – was it an energy gain? A debuff? Is it even detectable on the character parse page on WOL?
Ideally, you can link to the spell on World of Logs in the example of a real combat log. Lots of things that you think should be trackable actually aren’t as they don’t leave a trace in the combat log.
Hello, again,
yes you are right! i found skills or auras in the log often twice. i already expected that will take a while.
I like this comparebot tool more than any other part of the site – it helps summarize whether each player in a raid is doing their part to try and stay alive, and shows obvious disparities between two players of the same class. While updating the potential mistakes for every fight would be very time consuming, do you have any plans to at least update the significant class skills for the added abilities in MoP, and the monk class?
I’m not actively playing WoW right now so I’m super out-of-the-loop when it comes to significant skills for the Monk. Could you let me know what abilities should be tracked? Ideally you could find some spell IDs that show up in WOL to make it that much more likely that I’ll toss them into the code 🙂
Any plans to make this compatible with warcraftlogs too? Just wondering because my guild has switched over to using that site exclusively for their logs now.
Any plans to update the Raid summary part of the site with new classes and abilities for Warlords?
